Dua Lipa is an English singer and musician born on August 22, 1995, at London United Kingdom. The self-titled debut album was released in 2017 following her signed with Warner Bros Records. The album reached 3rd place at the U.K. Albums Chart and was followed by eight singles which included Be The One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. number-one song New Rules which peaked at sixth within the United States. Lipa's album, which has since been certified Platinum in various nations around the globe has won two Brit Awards (in the year of 2018) in the categories of British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough Artist. Dua Lipa was born August 22, 1995, in London with Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Her parents are of Bosnian descent via the maternal grandparents of her. She can trace her ancestry back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Her grandparents were historians as well. She is a sister to Rina Lipa, and has a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father, who was the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock group Oda. Her father played music at home, and included songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began to sing when she was just five years old. It was the Sylvia Young Theater School was the first place she began to sing at the age of nine. Lipa performed Beautiful by Christina Aguilera as well as If I'm Not You You By Alicia Keys on YouTube. In 2014, Lipa signed a record deal to Warner Bros. Records. New Love, Lipa's debut single, was released in August 2015.
